Sorry to hear about Everett. That was sadly how we lost my nan's cat. Hopefully the flush will help and give him some more time with you. I know I don't need to say it but enjoy every precious moment with him.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts for Everett.
I had a dog with kidney failure , she had an episode where she stopped eating and I flushed her out on IVs for 2 days and she rallied. Have 1.5yrs of good quality life after that. Keep the faith.
I have a sheltie in renal failure right now. He was diagnosed the end of May. Doc put him on Royal Canin modified protein.
He ate it but he didn't like it. He lost weight. Was not eating properly. His anxiety level increased (it has always been pretty bad).
Took him a couple weeks ago to see Doc. We thought we might have to put him to sleep as his quality of life was very low.
As a last ditch effort, we started feeding him Blue 1/2 a can and about a quarter cup of kibble morning and evening. At lunchtime he gets about 1/2 can of french cut green beans with a smear of baby food on top.
We also doubled his dose of Fluoxetine (prozac).
I have a brand new dog! He's MUCH happier, eats all his food, is ready to go outside at the drop of a hat and has CEASED his pacing and panting all the time.
So for the time he has left, he's going to get what he wants to eat. Period. Prolonging life at the cost of losing quality of life is not right, in my opinion.
And he has NOT had another episode of the explosive diarrhea and vomiting that led us to the diagnosis in the first place.
