Feeding Times & Walks

I was thinking of transitioning slowly between 5 and 6 months...I know when we got Bentley at 6 months he was eating twice a day.

If I went cold turkey on poor Lexi, I think she might starve to death...or at least act like she was!

Being that we both are retired, I usually get up aroud 9 am and I let Cruiser out. Then about 15 minutes later I let him back in ,That's when he eats the first time. Then sometime between 8 and 9 pm he gets dinner. Cruiser is an out door dog. He likes to sit out on the inclosed porched watching people go by and the yard is fenced in.He has a doggy door so he can go out side on his own. We have a summer home in Maryland and there we have to keep him tied up .He has a large Maple tree he sits under ,or on top of the porch steeps. He has to keep his nose on what's going on out side.He loves riding in the truck and Our convertible. Last year we took him out on our 24 ft Pontoon boat. He has his own life jacket.

I've got a stupid and totally rigid schedule, but the boys are used to it.

I like to read in the morning and I love my morning coffee(s)

I set my alarm for 5:50 a.m.

I get up to get a coffee and Indy follows be downstairs for a pee. We tuck back up in bed while I read for 20 minutes

At 6:10, I get up again for my second cup of coffee. At this point, Bacca has woken up and both boys will go outside. Indy just to sniff around and Bacca to do his business. Then I go back to bed to read a few more pages.

At 6:30, I get up for the shower. Both boys don't even move. They know that I'm not going downstairs again until I've done the blow dryer routine.

Once the blow dryer is finished they start circling because they know it's less than 5 minutes before feeding time. They are parked at the bedroom door ready to lead the charge downstairs!

Weekends is pretty much the same, except delayed about an hour - the alarm is turned off, but the boys wake me up by walking over me and snuffling at me. But yes, still two cups of coffee, shower, then down we go.

Hey I'm all for schedules, my pets are one, I am on one etc. It works, the animals, especially Megan like the consistency and makes her feel secure. :wink2:
