FERGY IS GROWING

Becoming a little concerned about FERGY's growing too fast. LOL He is five months old this week and he weighs 19.2 pounds and stands 14 3/4" tall at his shoulders. Not an ounce of fat on him, all muscle. He is over half as tall as Laddie, Laddie is a large Sheltie.

I cropped and enlarged this photo. The bed post is the foot of the bed. He is super active and is driving his big brother crazy part of the day. Laddie lets him know that he isn't in the mood for wrestling. Nothing is off limits, as far as he is concerned, to chew or actually eat. I know the teeth cause a large part of that although he gets bored easily also. Makes a great vacuum sweeper for the kitchen floor just don't drop anything you wish to keep or have him inhale.
We have him/them outside to play or just relax on the porch and take exercise walks to edge of woods. Tick season is upon us so we keep them out of the woods as much as possible. Haven't had any problem with them since the newer shots given them now seem to keep most all of the pests off them along with the chewy's for them. He is a delight for us along with the shredding of paper and trying to destroy some of his toys.
Hair is maturing on him and is beautiful, shiny and wavy. My original guess was that he would weigh about 25 pounds and stand 16" tall when grown, beginning to think that may be a little "short" in my thinking.

Check out go-dog furballz, I bet the large one would be a hit with him. Ian and Spitfire play tug with the small ones often. I need to toss one and get a replacement though, they have tugged all the hair off.

Thank you, Denise is doing well although she is somewhat miserable this week.(Has been a week since her nasal surgery) Still has some packing and they will clear all the sinuses in two weeks.
FERGY is evolving into a clone of his big brother I am afraid. Lol He is constantly aware of where Laddie is at all times. When we let them into their yard from Bedroom/Back porch, we leave the door unlatched. Laddie has opened the door when he wants to return since maybe two years old, FERGY does it now and he is just four months plus a week. He is long legged and gaining muscle and form. Hair is coming in rather quickly, looks as though it may be somewhat curly. Transplanted some flowers the other day in their yard, FERGY had been chewing some of them and they both were digging in the flower beds. Laddie knows better. I really chastised FERGY, verbally, and he hasn't bothered them since. We have two blankets in his bed area. He decided to remodel same yesterday by taking the small blanket and placing it beside a chair he likes to sleep under. He had the large blanket halfway out. Guess he decided to return to work on it later. He is becoming more loving although as I have said before that is intended mostly for my wife. We are surprised every day with his intelligence. We have had some dogs that were really smart, we think this one is the sharpest and the most inquisitive. Have had to place a gate at bottom of our stairway to second floor. All the rooms there have computers and one room is my Leather work and sewing room and of course our library with books on low shelves.
Never a dull day or moment and it is definitely making for some tiring times for this old couple with a new puppy.

Great picture-- what a life-- a cool lawn to lie on, in the shade, and a good bud to hang with-- watchin the world spin by.. NICE.

On another note: FERGY had regular Vet date yesterday. Confirmed my weight for him of 19.2 lbs. Told my wife whatever we are doing is definitely working for FERGY, keep it up. Pre surgery examination for neutering some time in June.
Becoming more "lovey" and totally showing off for folks we visit with him.

I am sure he will settle down a bit after surgery- it will take some of the wind out of his sails and Laddie will thank you-- he looks like he is ready for action-- whats next???
