Our sweet little gal passed away last September at the young age of 12 from heart problems. This will be our first Christmas without her. She will always remain in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Know that your memories will make your Christmas easier. They do live on in our hearts in a very special way.

My Sheltie soul mate died in September of this year too.

In october I had my birthday without him, followed by thankgiving, the season's first snow fall, and now christmas - all horrible firsts.

It's just so hard...

Hold tight to your memories, they are left to you for a reason and that is to shine in your heart.

Loosing Seamus in September as well, I know how tough the season can be but my little one would be perplexed by my sorrow, he would hate to see me sad and so all the love I have goes to Harper Lee with a little left over for her Daddy.

Our shelties shine still, I just know they do.

Best,
Kate

My condolenses on your loss. I know how hard it is.

(I meant to say something like that in my first message, but was unable to edit it.)

Thank you all for your hugs and well wishes. If you've had more than one Sheltie you know that they are all special, but one leaves a mark like no other. This was our Sassafras. Our tiny 12 lb Sheltie with a huge personality. When the specialist told me she had mitral valve prolapse I cried on the spot because I knew there was no cure. No amount of money was going to keep her in our life. We started meds right away, but as the months passed I watched her appetite and weight decline. The disease slowly robbed her of energy. But being the good parents that we are we knew when it was time to let her go. My husband and I sobbed the entire day. I felt like someone had ripped out my heart. I will remember her always and hope someday to be reunited with my baby. Until then I will shower our current Sheltie trio with affection and know that Sassy is with us in spirit.

so sad

My heart bleeds for you . I read this after walking in the door from our daily hour walk.

I spent the walk counting my lucky stars that I had such a wonderful wife & pack to share my life with. The memories last a lot longer than the hurt. give the rest of the pack a hug for me.
