Meet Gracee, Almost 16.

I am pleased to introduce Gracee, she will be 16 this summer. She still scampers up 2 flights of stairs many times daily, loves to back for a bit to the world when she goes outside, and generally stick like velcro to my wife.

The sight of a squirrel on the deck under the bird feeders, or a Moose will really get her going.

She is mostly deaf, and has had mild epilepsy since age 3 which caused about 1 seizure/month. She is now medicated which prevents seizures. Due a kidney failure diagnosed a year ago, we cook all of her food she is doing VERY well.

I promise to get a fresh photo or 2 to show her today, none of the photos are real recent. I just signed up for a premium membership, but need to wait for Paypal so here is a photo link to an offline site.

Thanks for sharing the photos with us. She is such a beautiful girl! I really love her expression. She just looks like a happy happy dog.

I love the background in your photos. So so beautiful.

What a charmer! Thank you for sharing pictures and welcome! Beau and I are both a bit jealous of her fresh salmon diet. I'd never have guessed she wasn't a full sheltie unless told, but you can see the eskimo a little in her nose and around her eyes.

Thanks for the photos. She is a beaut'. May she enjoy her fresh salmon for many years to come - my 3 have to make do with packets of salmon mousse - very envious

Salmon

David,

Salmon mousse sounds very good! We would not be able to feed Salmon if not for the bounty available to us fishing in Valdez. Many working dogs (sled dogs) in Alaska eat Chum Salmon, she is lucky to get Coho, the same that we eat! Our friend is a vet, she helped with the recipe. I would be happy to share it if there is an interest but there would have to be substitution for the Salmon :) Unless you live up here.

My Uncle owns a fish camp on the Kenai, so we get lots of salmon sent to us. I would love the recipe.

Gracie is beautiful! Her spirit and head movements remind me of my heart dog that has passed on. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful girl.
Thanks for the pics.
