Funny True Vet Story

Regarding dogs, the testicles should be down at birth and readily palpable at 8wks. Although, sometimes they can be shy or held high especially in shelties and boxers. If they are not readily down and felt at 6 months they most likely won't drop. Although I did see one testicle in a sheltie drop at 9 months.

The reason I got Bacca from the breeder was because he was still displaying one undescended testicle at 5 weeks. That persisted until I got him neutuered at 10 months. Like Justicemom said, if they are going to drop, they generally do early on. I held out on the surgery for a long while in the hope that I could avoid the abdominal surgery that is required for a cryptoid.
