GAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!! Driving me nuts!!!!!

When my dog had a UTI, she would also not pee in her crate, but would pee multiple times a day in the house when outside of the crate.

This is because they usually sleep in their crate and they don't want to lay in their own urine, so they will do everything they can to not pee in their crate.

The best thing you can do is take him to the vet and do a complete medical work up... urinalysis, urine culture, xray or ultra sound for bladder stones, blood work. If you have ruled out any medical issue, then I suggest going back to puppy training 101, watching his water intake, learning his bathroom signals and hiring a trainer if all else fails.

I don't think there is any question that a vet visit is required. And sooner than later given what your husband is threatening.

If money is an issue, explain the situation exactly when you make the appointment. Some (few?) will do prelim assessments with no charge. It does not hurt to ask...

they actually told me that they can do a sample there if i dont want to collect it myself. i dont know how they would do it though, but they did say that was an option.

WOW SO INCREDIBLY PISSED RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Gizmo just peed on the couch AGAIN!!!!!!!! absolutely no signs at all. he was laying on the couch one second (i was brushing him), when i got done he just stood up like he was going to jump down and started peeing. no warning at all!!!!! :gaah this had better be a uti or something medically treatable like that because i dont know what else we can do behavior wise! we have gone back to house training 101 SOOOO many times with him that its a joke! nothing we do seems to help. and the only trainer in the area is at petsmart, no other options unless we want to drive over an hour away. and we cant afford the fee for a one on one meeting, and honestly i dont know if it would even help. its like the only possible way to ever keep him from peeing on the floor is to keep him in his crate 24/7 and only let him out to pee. and if it takes much more then antibiotics i dont know if we will be able to afford anything else. we have no income right now because my husband just finished school and we are waiting to hear from a job prospect, and if he gets this job it could still be several weeks before we have an income. so there is no way we can afford hundreds of dollars in blood work and xrays and ultrasounds! i just dont know what to do anymore:no:
