Gallbladder Strikes Again

Wow, definitely time for it to come out. Hope she recovers well and it's time to come home soon.

wow so glad she is out of surgery and doing well. That is so scary that Lacey's gallbladder was that close to rupturing. She is so lucky that you do sonogram checks. Wishing her an easy and speedy recovery!

Oh man! Thank your lucky stars it was monitored and caught before a crisis. Darn gallbladders, anyway. I know you can't wait to get her back home to recuperate. Sending you healing thoughts.

Ann - can I ask how often you were having Lacey's gallbladder scanned (sorry you've probably already said)? Not sure what schedule to put Tully on.

Poor Lacey! I am so glad to hear that she's out of surgery.

Gallbladder mucocele is so scary - I don't have to tell anyone here that, but it bears repeating. Lacey (and all your pups) are lucky to have you monitoring them and taking the necessary steps for their health.

I do a baseline ultrasound at age 5. Depending on what that shows, they get scanned once a year. For dogs with more sludge than normal, it's once every six months or more frequently. Lacey was being done every two to three months for the past year. I'm lucky in that my vet has an ultrasound machine in his office and does it with me right there.

Lacey is home! True to form, she dug in her little paws and refused to eat at the vet hospital. So they let me bring her home last night, where she promptly gobbled a bowl of chicken and rice. She's doing great and looks so much brighter and happier. Lots of crate rest for the next few weeks but then she'll be back to normal. What a relief! Thanks for all the good wishes and support! :hugs

YAY!!!! A good report. Our Shelties do not like being separated from us one little bit! I guess a hunger strike was called for, LOL. So glad she came through like a champ! :hugs

Outstanding news Ann!!!
Lacey will love getting pampered and eating her special diet at home!

I know how relieved you both must be...

Happy dance... well, maybe a skip for Lacey for now!!!

Virtual hugs to you both!
