Wow - much larger incicion than I expected to see. Sorry about the added expense to the surgery. When it rains, it pours. Hope you both got some rest last night.

well, Gavin slept!
I got about 4-5 hours I guess.
I was so paranoid about him moving around, but one he settled in he was pretty good.
moved to a tank top cause he was getting tripped up on the t shirt sleeves, it fits much better.
He has shown no interest in his incision, which is good. But if that were to happen, it wouldn't be until he is less drugged up anyway.

Glad you both got some rest Cindy! That’s quite the incision Gavin has, I hope it heals quickly! I imagine once it starts healing he may notice it more.

So glad he seems to be doing okay and that he's eating, even just a little. And you both need your rest! I also know what it's like to have money hit your account and immediately fly out -- no fun

Good update. Happy to hear you were able to get some rest. It's not easy when we feel like we need to be alert to any potential issue.

went home super early to be with my Boy.
he had a nice snack of kibble, which he ate himself (no hand feeding!).
he loves being in his dog bed as opposed to the bed in the crate.

Maybe 6 hours? I think his meds wore off around 4AM cause he started getting restless. So they have me using 2 gabapentin + carprofen every 12 hours.
I think at night I should add one of his CBD treats. cause I need the sleep!
So Gavin isn't gonna be tearing out his stitches, but he can lick them. So his side does need to be covered when I'm not awake and watching him.
The t shirt method isn't the most comfy for him to walk with, so as he heals and I stop crating him I will move to a bandage/vet wrap solution
