Goodbye Gallbladder

I give Piper (and it’s worked well with Blueberry as well) his pills in a piece of a cheese slice (the processed ones)…the pill sticks to the cheese and I can mold it to the pill so it doesn’t slip out. Works well. I usually use a name brand and the thin slices…no name is too thick and too hard. Helps too if the cheese slice is at room temperature.
I pop it in and they swallow it quickly. Of course you have to be careful giving it or you’ll lose a finger 😂

So glad to read good news!!!! Sorry to be late to the party.... Glad it is out, you both endured your night together and she has forgotten her ordeal and is on the mend.

Dogs are so funny with meds... I have Deacon - the undie, sock and sandal eating boy who takes meds right out of my hand... when I say he will eat anything, I do not lie! Then there's Brodie - I roll up in cheese or cut a hole out of salami or something really good and smelly in hopes of him not noticing... he'll roll whatever around in his mouth and spit out either everything or just the pill.

An interesting PS to Flurry's gallbladder story. My vet called today to say her labs were back with the GB analysis and all was fine, but whadaya know, there was a mucocele in her gallbladder so we really dodged a bullet! That did not show up in her ultrasound, which admittedly was two months before the surgery and showed lots of sludge. So perhaps it was hidden or formed between the ultrasound and the surgery. But how scary to think if we had continued to wait because she had no symptoms what might have happened!

If that doesn't make the case for regular ultrasounds and preemptive surgery at a certain point I don't know what does.
