Goodbye Trace - my sunshine

I am so sorry for your loss. Last summer I lost a pom from mushroom poisoning, he wasn't even 1 yet but was already firmly in my heart so I can only imagine what you are going through. Hanna is not a replacement in any way; I still miss him, but she has made his loss easier to bear and I hope your new pup will do the same.

thank you all - this has been so hard. I have had to help senior pets cross over, but was for sure not ready to say goodbye to my Ttrace

Wow that was so fast! And he was so young, you must be in shock. I am so sorry to read that you lost him this way, but at least he was with you at that most important moment, right in your loving arms.

I agree about the two dogs idea, our home always seems a little quiet with one dog. They don't have anyone to get into mischief with :wink2: I hope you are able to find the perfect dog to add to your family, one that Trace would approve of naturally.

As horrible it was to lose him like this, I am so thankful for 2 things. 1- we did not have to decide to help him cross over. I think I would have always wondered if that was the right decision. And 2 - I am so thankful that he didn't pass during the night. If we had found him that way in the morning I would be forever haunted by wondering if his last moments were painful...if he suffered. I know that he left this earth peacefully.

And it has been a month and a half and I am crying like a baby as I type this.

I miss him so terribly...

Trace slipped gently into the "next room" we call Rainbow Bridge. He waits patiently there for you.

I am so sorry for the loss of the your beautiful Trace :( I know how hard it is, and I'm sending some warm hugs from Scotland.:hugs Thinking about you . May your new baby heal a little bit of your heart x

wow - thoughts from Scotland - that's heartwarming...

We are trying to think of new names for the hopeful new littl' boy - kinda funny since the litters aren't even expected until mid May, and no guarantee of a boy for us. I guess we like the distraction...

So far "Baker" is on top of the list, followed by "Duncan" then "Cooper". Hubby's dad & grandpa were both actual professional bakers, so I can't see any other name topping that. Will be a unique call name in the ring I think. :)

I've said it on other posts - just need to repeat - this is the best site ever! Thank you all for the support I feel here during this difficult time! Had my annual physical this morning. I reminded the Dr that last year we met after my father passed in January. This year it was after saying goodbye to Trace on 1/26. Told her we were no longer participating in any more Januarys.
