Okay, so the vet report went very well. She has a little yeast infection in her right ear and fleas. All treatable (and treated). Oh and she is five pounds overweight (she is tiny and weighs 23.4 pounds). Easily remedied.
Kitty is getting adjusted. He is ignoring the dog now.
I spoke with the woman who rescued her six months ago and my heart broke. She was 8 years old and was kept out doors. She and her sire were rescued together. I asked about her name, "Rio", and found that for the 8 years she lived with these heartless puppy mill scumbags, she never had a name. (That made me cry). When she was rescued six months ago or so, the rescuer named her Rio. Three weeks later, she was adopted out to a pair of senior citizens who named her Shayna. They apparently were crazy about her at first and then called a couple of weeks ago after six months and said that they didn't want her, all she did was lay on the couch. They had no other dogs :-( They said that when they traveled, they put her in a kennel and she didn't want to come home. DUH. No surprise there. Cages and lots of other dogs to keep her company. (We love it that she is a couch potato. She will fit in well at our house.)
So, she doesn't answer to Shayna.
We are renaming her "Hope". That is the name she will leave this earth with, when it is time to go to the bridge.
So how do I upload a photo?
Thanks
for all the wonderful welcome and support!
Oh, one more thing...at 7:45 this morning, put the dogs out and she would not come back into the house :-( Guessing the neighbors were laughing their butts of watching the two old folks in their jammies and robes chasing the Sheltie around the yard! (From now on she goes out with a six foot lead attached! GRRRRR!)
Nan
