Greetings:

Thanks for the welcome -

Thanks very much for the warm welcome. I will post photos as soon as I figure out the means for doing so. Yes, we call him Robby, or just Rob. He is a tall, lanky boy with big ears which he is doing his best to grow into. In the just over a year that he has been with us he has matured significantly - much longer and silkier coat, gained several pounds (which he really needed), and has become a very handsome young man. Yes, I know, I'll get the photos.

Hi Will from the other side of the world. Love the name Robby of the Burns, so very scottish patriotic. Does the Bruce part come from Robert the Bruce?

The Scottish name -

Thanks for the compliment on Robby's name. It is, of course, a reference to the Scottish bard, Robert Burns, whose birthday we celebrate each year near the end of January with dinners, song, dance, pipes, haggis, etc. A "burn" in the Scots is a creek or stream running with water. A creek runs through our neighborhood and along/between two lakes, and we are also near the confluence of the Minnesota & Mississippi Rivers - hence the name. Yes, the name "Bruce" is the name of the family/clan to which I belong. Robby has a special "dress" collar in our family tartan, which he proudly wears.

Welcome to the forums and wonderful names!
I cannot wait of course to also see the photos, but no pressure ;)
I live in Nova Scotia, so many people are more Scottish than Scot's men ;)

The Promised Pictures -

Here are a few photos of the Bruce Shelties as I promised. Jake was about 6 years old when his photo was taken, Lacey also about 6, and Rob at about a year and a half. I sincerely hope the link works as intended. I would appreciate hearing what you think of my three. I miss Jake and Lacey (both at the bridge) very much, but Rob helps with that a great deal. One of rescue people I have dealt with tells me that she believes our departed Shelties send us the ones we need. All I can tell you is that we sure needed Rob - bless him.
Yours, Aye Will

Beautiful pups. They are all very photogenic, too! That picture of Jake is great. You can almost feel the wind blowing through his fur.
