Grooming compliments

I have to admit. Miko tends to get compliments, but Koji? He's so scraggly looking. I know that's my fault, but yet, his hair is so wild to begin with. I bought some thinners so his back end should be better. And I bought the Sheltie grooming book. I feel bad for him. That he's not as beautiful as Miko. But yet, I still love his crazy fur look.

{bowing my head in shame for having a wild fur flying Sheltie}

I won't even pat my parent's lab mix. Everytime I do, I have to shake my hand off and then wash my hands. His dander is tremendous and I'm totally allergic to him. And it sticks to everything! At least Sheltie fur just seems to drift into the corners of the house.

Last time I took Ainsley to the vet he commented on how beautiful and well behaved she is. I was so proud of my girl. He even said that she has nice teeth and asked me if I brush them. When I take her to the park we always get comments like "pretty dog" or "beautiful sheltie" There aren't a lot of shelties around here and the once that are usually look pretty disheveled.

The worst dog I've ever seen though was an Afghan that a woman was walking. The poor thing was one large mat. I realize that a dog like that takes a lot of grooming, but why get a dog with a coat like that if you aren't willing to take care of it?

I'll keep my sheltie.

Arrgh. :mad: I only seen a couple of Afghan in private practice that weren't show dogs. All of them have been matted to the skin. Gee I didn't think they would take so much grooming. I never get people who get x,y,z breed becuase they love their coats and then don't set brush or comb to them. :mad:

Everyone on this list are the dog owners vets want to see. Atleast me.:smile2: People who take care of their dogs and are active in their care.

I try and brush Mr Toffee at least once a week, but he REALLY hates it, of course I keep going, and I click and brush, click and brush, click and treat when he doesn't bite the brush on his pants, lol
But he tolerates it ok, overall! he doesn't have as THICK a coat because he's still young (or so i hope)
BUT I DO get compliments on how SLIM he is :lol: The vet is happy with him
