Hi everyone! My husband and I are a young couple, and adopted a one year old sable and white female a year ago (she is two now) named Sophie. We just love her to pieces. This past weekend we adopted a gorgeous 6 month blue merle female named Lexi. She is very shy and shakes every time we pick her up or put her outside. That is why I signed up for this site, so I can read helpful information about how to raise a puppy and how to get her to bond and trust us.

Welcome to the forums. I have a two-old-sable as well and an almost two-year-old tri.

I had a blue merle in the past and just love the colouring.

Can't wait to see pix.

It will take time for Lexi to get used to you and her new surroundings. Perseverance, treating, lots of loving will do wonders in making her comfortable in her new home.

Shelties are sensitive, sometimes extremely so, so be consistent in loving her. She will positively respond, in time, I know it.
 
Welcome to the forum! We just moved from SC to Ohio (we were living in Charleston) and I have two shelties--Bentley and a female named Lexi :biggrin2:

And from another South Carolinian....oooweee another family for the sheltie gathering!!

We are a family of four dogs here.3 shelties,and one honorary lab...Earnhardt.

The shelties are ages:
Mia 19 months. Mia is blind & deaf
Trapp 29 months
Jasper 24 months.

Both Trapp & Jasper are half brothers.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have a blue merle Gypsy. Is your pup from a puppymill? As everyone said it does takes patience, puppymill pups may take a bit longer to come around.

I am moving to Murrells Inlet on Saturday.
 
There is an 85% chance I'm moving to SC as well! Over the summer. Highlands or lowlands? We'll be up by Clemson with our 5 month old baby (human), 2 yr old sable (Duncan), 3 yr old Papillon (Pierre), and ~5 yr old color headed white rescue (Abigail).

This is a great forum for trouble shooting. You will hear all sorts of responses and some wonderful stories. Good luck and welcome.
