Hello from Spirit Joy (aka Energizer Puppy)

Thank you! Yeah, I need to figure out how to post pictures. I know I can only post a link, but I don't really have a page out there anywhere to link to. My Facebook profile is private, and I don't know what else I could use.
 
Well, Spirit was a complete maniac in agility class tonight. No focus AT ALL!!!!!!! Running around like a maniac, completely blowing me off. I know she's still young, and she's a high energy, happy little girl, but I really need her to be a little more connected to me. I scheduled a private lesson with the trainer to try and work on this. Spirit has always been pretty independent and loves agility so much that she self-rewards when she runs away from me. The positive side of that is that she'll run with anyone - she's definitely not the kind of dog who will only work with one handler. But she really needs to understand that the agility game involves BOTH OF US!!!!!!!!

And Spirit totally redeemed herself in flyball class tonight. She was confident and focused and full of drive! I think she likes her new tug :-) She even offered her box turn from about 10 feet away to get it, which she has never done before. I'm very proud of my little peanut. Now we just need her to understand that she has to grab the tennis ball WHILE doing the box turn :-) But she's only been doing flyball for 2 months. She has plenty of time to learn.
