Hello from Tokyo

What a precious tiny soul with such big expressive eyes...Sansa is 100% adorable. Glad she is home now and ready to start her new life as part of your family...sounds like the drive was quite an adventure!

Welcome to the Sheltie Nation forums. I remember seeing a picture of blue merle shelties in the street after the big Tsunami in Japan and the release of radioactive material from the nuclear power plant meltdown. I was shocked at that time of how popular the breed was over there. My cousin was stationed in Okinawa for a few years and he said that there weren't too many shelties on that Island like there was in Tokyo.

Anyway! Welcome again.

Yeah, I've lived in a few places within Japan and never fail to see them. (mostly sables...ittsu mini rasshi!) I think the shibu-inu still reins supreme here but the amount of unsocialized "did you forget this is a dog?" chihuahuas is terrible. I've only been to Okinawa once but the heat and humidity there isn't the best environment for pups of any breed.

I had to drive through a typhoon to get her home...stuck in traffic for 4 hours so doing her business was inevitable. Unfortunatly, nowhere to pull over and she tracked it all over the inside of the carrier before I even smelled it. Soooo glad I have a plasma cluster unit in my van....even with that, it was not a very pleasant drive home :ick

Luckily, she doesn't seem to phased by it. Doesn't seem stressed and is already comfortable enough to want to play and demand human food (though once she realized she wasn't getting any, she laid down and stayed quiet) I think she's going to be an obediant one! :fl

Welcome! She is just the cutest! Sounds like you had an epic adventure! So glad you both got home safe and sound. She really is precious! :hugsCant wait til I get my puppy!!!

Welcome from Northern Virginia. Sansa is a total delight -- are you going to do her ears or let them go natural?

Three of my Shelties are half Japanese, through Mr. Edo of Northern Farm.
