I agree with containing him, just to protect your house. I do think dogs have stomach of steel. Unless you see any adverse reactions, must chill for now. Our dogs have stomachs of steel!

Luckily no rabies in Australia. But I'll be heading out for some worming tablets tomorrow - while I'm filling in time while the carpet dries. Turns out roo intestines leave a green stain on the carpet.
Would you believe he was outside this morning eating his vomit! Obviously rancid tastes better the second time around.
He's hobbling quite a bit, seems to have upset his arthritis but thankfully no more vomiting overnight. I ended up crating him in the bedroom just in case.Honestly I just don't get the attraction to eating something so revolting!

Eew! Wow, I feel for you! My dogs have never eaten a dead critter, but do enjoy their sniffs. Bleah! I'd say keep the dog confined in a tiled area, but if the dog eats the vomit, the cycle begins again. Do you have a bathroom off your bedroom? At least then you can hear the noise and get up to clean it immediately. No rabies in Australia? I am moving there!

Paws crossed that your pup feels better quickly. I'd still call a vet....Not sure what Phoebe grabbed on the road in November but she nearly died. Get blood work. She ate a bit of whatever it was on Sunday afternoon. She was fine until Wednesday evening. Her liver was in failure and the only thing out of the ordinary was whatever she tried to eat on the Sunday. The ALKP was too high to get a count on even with a 10:1 dilution and her bile acids were soaring. Her symptoms were unnoticeable until she refused her supper. After 3 days of supportive care in clinic, medications etc. she was sent home for her last days with us. In desperation I put her on a liver cleanse that contained many things including milk thistle. Thankfully, she is now okay but will continue on this blend for the rest of her life.
Please don't assume that Deska is fine. We were lucky and I will never make that mistake again. Who knows how those roos died and of what.

well I was laughing until I got to Phoebe's story. Glad she made it through, and I hope Deska has recovered by now.
But I do get some good chuckles from the mice, rabbits, etc. As if we needed further proof that dogs can be gross.

Oh man, and he went for the intestines!

Went for a walk near the dead roos - and Deska managed to stay away, altho he looked longingly toward them and Tully tried to get under the fence (but I think that was just a bit of attention seeking by her). There was some bones on our walk (probably dropped by the crows) and they both rolled in them, but thankfully neither of them decided to eat it. I guess they have some limits as to how rancid an animal is before they won't eat it!
