Hi! I actually joined this forum in mid-December, but Josie wasn't home with us yet, so am just now introducing myself. Josie is a 9 week old Sable female and is our baby girl! She's my 4th Sheltie puppy--my first was in '87, a beautiful sable named Lady. She passed away in '98, and she was my life! In the Spring of '99, my new husband, Pat, and I decided to get a tri-color female pup and named her Gracie. A year and a half later I decided she needed a friend and we got a blue merle male that I named Elvis. We ended up losing them both a month and a half apart in 2012--Gracie at age 13 and Elvis at age 11. A couple of months ago, Pat & I decided we were finally ready for another Sheltie, and I decided that I could finally accept getting another sable. So, along came Josie! First born, first picked, and last to leave her mom!

PS--And, I'm amazed at how much I've FORGOTTEN about raising a puppy! :confused2:

Hi Tammy, welcome to you, Pat and Josie to Sheltie Nation. She has such an adorable face and from the eyes, looks like she be going to have the personality to go with it. Having said that, I do think you are right about her telling you something, my guess is she is ready to hit PetSmart or some such place for some heavy shopping . . . boy, is she ever going to have ya'all wrapped around her little paws! Enjoy! It is going to be so much fun at your house, you'll be back in the puppy groove in no time. :fl

Welcome -- I can see we can expect the most delightful pictures from you of darling Josie!

such a sweet face!

Can I just say you are "IN" for it...because I hadn't had a puppy in years...and WOW, it is nothing like I remembered, and then I added another, so two lil monsters overtaking my life. And there are days I question my sanity at thinking I could handle two.:fl

And please take the girl shopping, she needs an outlet and she is trying to let you know. Being so CUTE, demand a discount!!!!

But one thing is for sure, you will wonder how you managed NOT having a sheltie in your life. They are SO special. At the end of the day, when mine curl up on me(mine have always been lap creatures and velcro woofs), while I am reading or watching a movie, I think wow how incredible they truly are.

She resembles my 2nd one that departed 1-29-14, and I always referred to her as a tri-colored, because she had dark fur highlighting, and looked grayish like yours does as a pup, then she darkened up, but white/sable & black...but I guess I was misinformed, as Kaleigh, my pup now, that looks like a border collie with tan accents is truly a tricolor...who knew?
