Honey is at peace

Fergusmom, The best thing we ever did before we lost Katie was get a cam corder now I can watch video's of her and hear her bark..... mind you it still brings me to tears but some days I just have to hear her again.

Beautiful tribute to a great dog... I particular love the typical sheltie long nose pic right at the camera... The rest of us probably also remember all the times we just can't get 'far' enough away from a Sheltie to take a proper picture ;)

I am sure you made the right choice and I am convinced any type of heaven wouldn't be heaven if our dogs could not be there waiting for us, when it is our time!

Such a wonderful photos album, and we cannot thank you enough for sharing them. She was beautiful, her coat was so thick & gorgeous. A wonderful tribute~

Awesome Tribute to Honey !

Thank you so much Kenny for sharing the great photos of Honey ! I love the picture of her trying to get her nose up to the camera in the snow. The final picture of a Sheltie snow Angel . God Bless, you, your family and Honey .

Beautiful photo album of a lovely dog. She has a sweet expression and a just adore the shot of her "singing" in front of the Toronto Center for the Arts.

:smile2:

Cherish and share your precious moments and memories of Honey.

Reminiscing

It's funny. The past Saturday morning I went to Honey's favourite park for some alone time and to reminisce. 6 of Honey's friends and their parents came over from the unofficial dog park across the street. Honey used to hang out and bark at all the dogs at the "dog park", as if to referee them all.

All 6 of Honey's friends came up and swarmed me, like they were trying to comfort me. It was a nice gesture from all of them. I talked to their parents for a little while, as they all knew of the situation. It's a great close-knit dog community. Honey used to bark every morning. Now the park neighbourhood tell me they miss hearing that (I think she was the only barker out of all the neighbourhood fur kids).

Honey made a far greater impact than I ever thought possible.

Promise fulfilled

Early this afternoon, Jan and I fulfilled our promise to Honey. As our final gift to her, we carried her urn to her favourite park to set her free.

Honey loved to spend hours in this park. Whether to watch people walk by, watch children play on the playground equipment, chase squirrels up trees, or greet and play with her friends when they came by, Honey was reluctant to leave when it was time for me to go to work or time for dinner.

Under cloudy skies and a slight breeze, we scattered Honey's ashes at the base of a large maple tree overlooking the park.

Be at peace, Honey. You are our little girl. Daddy and Jan love you, always.
