Hopefully that's a light at the end of the tunnel....

Sending all the good luck in the world to you and Benny tomorrow. I know it will be hard to wait until he's done. Prayers all goes smoothly. You've both been through so much. :fl:hugs

Thanks guys-- your support means the world to me. We go in at 8:30. There's a pre-op meet with the surgeon which is nice since I've never laid eyes on him. Dr Amy took Benny's staples out today from the failed cyst removal and was thrilled this surgeon, a Dr Shelly, is doing it. She said he's the only doc in town she would let do this kind of thing on her dogs--very experienced, brilliant (she said) and surprisingly is a nice guy.

Will check in tomorrow with good news I hope!

I just got the call from the surgeon. Benny made it through. He's waking up now. The surgery took about an hour and a half.
The surgeon did both sides. And I quote "And boy, did he need it!" He is hopeful that by narrowing the channel Benny will be able to have regular bowel movements again. Of course there is no guarantee.
I get to pick him up tomorrow morning, early, which is great.

Phew
One hard part down. The next hard part--keeping him quiet till he heals (for about a month)

Thanks again for the support not just recently but for the last three years!

That’s great news Margi! You must be so relieved to get that phone call! It must’ve been really bad…poor Benny and you for all you’ve been through for all this time!
I’m praying this does the trick and makes things normal for him once again!
And I hope it’s not too hard to keep him quiet for a month!

That is the VERY best news to hear! Thanks for letting us know. You aren't kidding the hard part is keeping them quiet. It took Gabapentin and Trazadone for Flurry for two weeks but it's worth it to let them heal. Don't be afraid to ask for it. Now all fingers crossed that this is the end of the battle for Benny! Get some rest!
