Hi to everybody, my english is not very good, but i'll try to explain myself as well as I can.

I have two new puppies. Fist I had one (male) eight months old and after a month the other came, a female. The female is only 5 days younger than the male. So at the begining the male was a little nervous about her, and didn't want her to play with his toys and even the food. The behaviour of the male was the same you explain in your mesages, beating every thing, very excited, etc. But after 3 weeks togheter they are better, but the male is the boss of her, but not of us. You have to show them who is in charge and give them biscuits dogs or something when they do the correct things.

Since the first day they do their poo at the news papers, now when we go for a walk and they do poo outside y give them a lot of cookies and they understand quickly that they do the right thing, so they are one of the most inteligent dogs.

Is better give them the cookies when do things well than say "no" all the day for every thing. You need a lot of pacience with tem.....they are still babies. But they grow up fast, so you have to show them how you want they to be since the first day.

We are attending puppies classes now, and we are learning togheter how to understand dogs and to correct the behaviour in the right way.

Shelties are the most loving dogs of the world, I'm so happy with them! :hugs

Welcome Alonsoe. Your English is fine...and it sounds like you are doing a great job with your 2 shelties. You are right...shelties are the best...and they sure do love biscuits/cookies! :smile2:

Welcome to the Forum! Your English is wonderful, and it sounds like your puppies are too. You're doing everything right. Puppy classes are a great way to start them on the right track.

For training, I like positive reinforcement. So yes, cookies (or even just a piece of their regular kibble) with lots of praise when they do something right, and a firm "no!" when they misbehave, if you catch them in the act. Reprimanding after the behavior has happened confuses them, because they don't know why they're being scolded.

Good luck with your babies and please keep us posted on them! We always enjoy pictures too.

Welcome alonsoe to Sheltie Nation to you and your two sweet baby's. It sounds like you are on the right track to raising two well mannered, well behaved Shelties. Positive reinforcement is always the way to go and you are also on the right track with the puppy classes, well worth your time and effort. We at SN love pictures and am looking forward to meeting your baby's. :smile2:

Hello again. Thanks for your hope words! I`m trying to show you a picture.....but I`m not sure how to do it. I want all you to meet my 4 months old puppies....they are so cute. The sable male is called Nevis after the highest scotland mountain (Ben Nevis) and the tri-coloured female is Foula after the smallest Shetland island......today is her birthday, because she was born the 18th of march, he was born the 13th, so he is only 5 days older than her.
Today I have glued their ears and both of them look strange....but funny!
I hace exercised wiht them in cutting their nails, the fur under their feet, etc and some tricks as sit, platz, pick up the toys....and they learn quikly! They are very sensible so I think that love is the best way training them! ....and cookies too!:wink2:
Please if someone could help me whith the pictures I have a lot to share whith you.....any help will be appreciate.

Thanks to all of you!:smile2:

Thanks for the information. The problem is that I don't have Facebook and I don't know the other programs, because of my privacy I don't want to share my photographs in internet, only in this forums that I consider more privacy than the other ways.

Perhaphs in the future.....
