How big is your Sheltie?

Thanks for the correction. (Somehow I had in my silly head the standard was 12 to 15 inches.)

I was adamant about a Scottish name for our pupper and he ended up as Brodie - an ancient Scottish clan name that dates back to before known records in the early 1600's There are Brodie lands, a Brodie clan, as well as a Brodie castle. There seems to be no knowledge of which came first. Love both spelling and love the background of the name! Welcome!!!! PS - my youngest (off to college tomorrow - boo hoo!) wanted to name him Chance after Chance the Rapper..... Love my Brodie boy or bubble-butt as I often call him!

Sounds like Cooper I should measure him I guess....he is 6 months next week and weighs 22 pounds. Where do you measure from....foot to top of back?

Depends where you are based. Outside the Americas the standard is a little different. In Australia the height range is 13" to 15" for females, I think ours is similar to UK and Europe. We get as many undersize puppies as oversized (esp in bitches) so that probably differs to the US/Canada too.
 
Champions mean nothing when it comes to size.....
smaller shelties can be held by the breeder to see if they make size so they aren't as readily available as the ones that obviously will be larger. I was lucky to get Destin as his breeder was keeping the girl of the litter - if there hadn't been a girl to keep, he likely would not have been available................

Both of Willow's parents were champions too and she's oversized. I think that's because her heart is so big. :)
