Good article, yet some trainers get SOOO lost in the mechanics they forget that humans are a part of the equation and not robots, we all learn differently and celebrate success differently and some enjoy a different way of learning!
Not all of us learn the same way, and people like me learn by doing. I feel some are only focused on the science of it all and forget to just have fun with it. Enjoy your time with your dog and laugh, build a trusting relationship and ENJOY.
I SAY Get a clicker and start clicking JUST DO IT![]()
Don't NEED to read a hundred articles, it doesn't have to be intimidating, because worst you can do is give the dog too many treats. I say just do it, it's NOT rocket science au contraire what some big names are trying to sell us in their 1k courses where a lot is good, common sense well packaged in scientific terms...
I love this quote: "Telling people how to train a dog SOLELY by teaching a "method" is straight up shallow. A fulfilling relationship with our dogs cannot be achieved exclusively through applying "scientific principles", clicker training, or punishment based training.
Through heartfelt interaction lies the path to a fulfilling relationship. And having a great relationship with our dogs is synonymous with having a dog that "gets you", listens to you and respects you.
Understand this, and you understand 90% of dog training."
