I am also from Indiana!

Tasia's Mom

Forums Regular
Good morning all! I'd like to introduce myself and my mini-me! My name is Laurie and I live in NE Indiana, Ft. Wayne to be exact! I purchased Tasia (pronounced 'Asia', but with a 'T' - there is a story behind that!), when she was 13 weeks old. She came from a goat farm and was very, very well cared for.

I have never had a sheltie own me nor have I ever owned a sheltie, but I do have to say, I will never have another breed!! Tasia will turn 5 on March 26th. She is my love, my life, my heart and everything else wonderful you could use to describe her!! We rescued each other as 2 days before getting her, I had to put down my toy aussie, Truman (thus, where the 'T' in Tasia came from!)

I will post more when I have a little more time, but alas, it is time to get ready for work! I soooo look forward to being a part of this forum, this seems to be a wonderful place!

Thank you all for welcoming Tasia and I to your community!!

Pictures to come soon!!

Welcome, Laurie and Tasia. Delighted you have joined us and we look forward to many stories and pics of your "mini-me".

nothing like a sheltie

welcome and GOOD choice, they are SO special....but then I think there is bias...but rightly so!!!! Nothing against non-shelties, they are sweet too, but ah a sheltie, they are just superior, ha...

Hello Laurie and Tasia. I grew up in Marion, so Fort Wayne was always "the evil school that ended our basketball team's winning streak.":wink2: That is a joke. But high school rivalry exists.

On the serious side, you will find that not only are shelties special, sheltie people are also good folks. Even though some of us hate your high school basketball team. I look forward to lots of stories.

Hi and welcome! I have a number of friends in Ft. Wayne; I'll actually be visiting their in a little better than a week, with the dogs of course, to watch the Daytona 500 with those same friends.

Great to have you and Taisa here. Love the heartwarming story behind her name.

Hi Laurie and Tasia, welcome to the Sheltie Nation. As one Hoosier to another, I was born and raised in Evansville. You have found the best place on the internet for all things Sheltie. You are right about our beloved breed, Shelties are the BEST and as everyone on this site will tell you, we all love to see pictures of your furbaby, we have to meet an uh-h-h and aw-w-w quota on a daily basis, otherwise we start going into withdrawals!

Hi Laurie & Tasia! Good to see yet another Hoosier! So, we know where the "T" came from, what about the "asia"--country or group? :smile2: My husband is a big fan of the group Asia.

Tammy

HAHAHA about the HS athletic teams because I actually grew up in Auburn and went to DeKalb HS - we also hated the FTW teams!

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!!!
