I Have Had Enough!

My vet (who has horses also) recommended getting guinea hens if we were zoned for them to aid in tick prevention. VERY necessary in CT sometimes. Now I just need to get my own place (non condo....)...

Speaking of birds that eat ticks, it reminded me of something! I don't know if they have them up north, but what are those white birds called that are always eating ticks off of cows? Is it a cattle egret? :confused2:

Everytime we drive by a field my Mom makes it a point to stop and tell me, "Those white birds eat ticks off of cows." :rolleyes2: Thanks, Mom!

I am just catching up on some of these posts. Wow you sure did go to war.

What a great idea, that is what I call going to war. What is so weird, where Lucky lays on the vent, I found a small dead tick. My FUR B GONE brush must have removed the tick, because the head and everything was there.
I quess a tick has to have a host to survive?

The bugs are horrible this year, including ticks, I hate them also.

From leaving the dogs in and out, I bet I have killed a 100 flies this year. I had to fight for a fly strip in the store. I might as well keep killing them by hand, because the fly strip has ONE FLY on it.

I know! We have something similar to those fly strips in our breakroom at work. Only these are adhesvie pieces of cardboard with something on it to attract the flies. There's always 10,000 flies on the table and maybe three or four on the fly trap.

So I deal some swift justice with the fly swatter. Everybody runs when they see me coming with it. :biggrin2:

That is funny! I found a cheap fly swatter that electric shocks them, UMMMM once in awhile if they come my way. The regular ol' fly swatter works the best.

The co-workers should be thrilled someone is taking charge to swat them

What is really the pits they love to go to anything that is white and put a brown spot there.

Chris I'm just checking in to see how Bitsy Boo is doing. I hope she is feeling some what better. Has everyone else been tested yet. I hope they will be free of everything. keeping you and your herd in my prayers.

How's Lil' Bitsy Boodle, Chris?

Just checking in. I haven't been on the forum in over a year. Thinking about you and remembering how wonderful all of the shelties and owners are on this site!!

Now, searching for answer's for Brulee's soft stools and bouts of diarrhea....

Blessings everyone, and to Bitsy. I miss those 4 little ones so much!!!

Chris did you ever get the hens? I remember those from up at Callaway Gardens, they were so pretty. Why do you have to be zoned for them, do they eat other insects and where do you buy them. I am so late getting to this post.

I am just seeing the post too. How is Bitsy doing and did you get the hens and are they working?

Do you know, it is funny. I have not seen one single solitary tick this whole summer on MMM or TTT. I think that Black Swamp of Sucking Death is sucking them right off the pupper's coats. What else could it be?

Hmmmmm, bottle this and sell it.
