I posted a couple of hours ago but for some reason it did not get published here. I have questions about brushing and concerns also. Yesterday, when I went out with our puppy, "Sandstorm", I noticed with horrorthat when he lifted his tail his butt area was covered with dried up poops stuck!! It looked awful, and I was so upset.
Today I removed them using warm water and puppy hair de-tangler, it did work, but I am wondering if there is a way to prevent this or do we just have to check this area daily and brush, brush brush!! I did read some very funny posts here concerning poop.
Actually, I laughed so hard I cried.
We love our new sheltie pup, we researched and found a great breeder in NH, and it was well worth it. He is a wonderful dog with a great temperament. Thanks for any replies,
Karen Curtis
Welcome to the forum!
First off what a great name,I love it.
Not really if I saw just how old your babe is,but our Trapp is 6 months old,and has had one really good poop shute done.My first attempt was with out good shears,so not a good turnout.
You might want to look in the forum lisitings for a thread titled "dingleberries"
It should help you out quite a bit.
Are you sure his poop is not loose? As I can see where a puppy really young would'nt have enough hair growth to require a shute trim, but one never knows.
Trapp is very thick with hair back there. We keep baby wipes handy, and we check every time he comes in from potty.Just to be sure.
Ok..pictures are a must..
