I'm buying puppy stuff, advice needed!!

We kept Brodie in the downstairs powder room when he first came home. I kept the bathroom fan on all night and played a classical music station on a radio all night. He's a pretty 'chill' puppy and we never had issues with him crying in his kennel. Well I take that back, he HATED the plastic kennel but was fine once I put him in a metal one. I had a pink pig really soft that I bought for him and there was a toy the breeder kept with momma.

Have 2 of whatever you have for the crate at first in case of accidents. Did you get a gate? After Brodie ate through ours, we got this one at Target. It's a little funky to get used to but easy to step over and it was cheap! https://www.target.com/p/regalo-wooden-expandable-safety-gate/-/A-75557021

I think it may have been Ann who recommended Fizzion - it is AWESOME stuff! Works better than ANY pet stain/odor product I have used and with my pancreatitis prone cat, I've used a lot! Even took up an old, old stain. Buy the bottle and the extra tablets to make more. https://www.amazon.com/Fizzion-Stre...GF58MA4ZYGV&psc=1&refRID=NHZTXMZETGF58MA4ZYGV

My husband said no. He's an electrician, and thinks that this device, since it can get very warm or hot, is not safe. We could get the spray

I used Adaptil plug-ins every time I brought a new dog/puppy home for a month or two. I did worry a bit about them in the outlet...your husband is right, they do get warm. Fortunately I never had a problem but it did concern me.

I bought a bunch of pheromone plug ins when we were having an issue with one of our cats when we had our oldest doxie put down. Some get SCARY hot, some don't. You don't know until you plug them in and see if it does or does not get horridly hot. They are scary, I didn't sleep the first few nights they were plugged in. We ran them a month and didn't see much of a difference with the cat so I stopped using them. I don't think I would ever try them again. PS - Brodie relieved Rusty's anxiety since Buddy left - funny cuz we worried Rusty would freak when we brought Brodie home.

I have Rescue Remedy here, it's another thing I don't think really works, but I bought. I always have essentials oils and did put a drop or two of lavender on top of the kennel covers. I still do that for Kooper during thunderstorms of which he is terrified!

What is that? Thanks
DAPP is a pheromone-based scent. to the puppy, it smells like a mamma dog. The diffuser is a plug-in that allows the calming scent to waft over the puppy. It's scent-free t humans, too! It really worked well for Layla! I got mine at Pet Smart -- never had a problem with it. I unplugged it during the day.

Husband won't allow it, what if we forgot to unplug it? I'll get the spray

Actually husband was just reading up on it- if the wiring is not right there will be problems, of course. He thinks many people may have faulty wiring and not know it.But if it has a UL rating on the product it's been tested for safety. Our problem is we have no where in the bedroom to plug it in safely- it can't be plugged in right next to a curtain or behind something- with two crates in one side of the room, space is tight- unless we reconfigure the whole bedroom, and my husband would complain about that, so it's the spray for us!
