Imaginary Mice

We have mice and they totaled one of our cars by eating the insulation off of the wires funny but not funny. But chipmunks are the object of Maisies's obsession-- not sure what she would do if she caught one or is she trying to herd it?? but boy does it have her attention and she has lots of words to say to it..whenever she sees one..

I had mice chew through my block heater cord (we have these in our cars warm in the frigid temps). Dirty buggers, even car warranties don’t cover rodent damage (something the wires are wrapped in attracts them).
All my dogs hate squirrels lol…never caught them but all I have to say is SQUIRREL and they go running and barking! The squirrel usually runs up the tree and starts squawking at them.
I’m sure it’s saying nana nana nana can’t catch me!

Toby chases everything that moves. But he loses attention when he catches whatever it is (usually the toy intended for the cat lol)

I’d imagine that he would stop short of actually catching a mouse and would most likely be content to just chase it around all day.

He saw a frog once at the curb and for about a month afterwards he would stop at the same exact spot looking for said frog. I suspect that’s what your sheltie is doing with the mouse!

For me it was in my extended car warranty…was never an issue for me but they’d told me about it when I needed work done on my car.

No idea what they’d do, I imagine Piper would kill it in his excitement and then Finnie would bark at it…Blueberry would probably then snarl at Finnie so she could see it. Meanwhile I’d be screaming at them to leave it

I think people underestimate shelites and their nose abilities. I swear blood hounds have nothing on shelties-- behavior wise shelties might not be good trackers but boy can they smell. I think they would be good medical dogs trained to sniff out diseases and probably drug dogs as well plus they are so cute who would be intimidated by a sheltie sniffing your backpack? Here during hunting season they have people who hire out to track deer that have been shot but ran away (sad I know) and the champion tracker is a lady with a dachshund-- go figure..
