The daffodil blooms were past by Memorial Day, but the wild flocks that bloom in our meadows provided this year's flowers to decorate the graves of our beloved little ones who are no longer here with us. A time of memories as the sun was setting...

Wow. What an amazing place you have for your loved furkids to rest. I'm sure it brings you lots of comfort.

All ours have been cremated and not buried. I still can't look at the gravesite of our kitty without being sad. The physical reminder is hard. But that's just me.
 
Our past pets have always had private cremations - have a collection of nice containers with pictures. Wish I had a lovely place to bury them, but also like their remains nearby...yes, morbid to some...
 
We buried Cody in the backyard and planted a Crepe Myrtle tree over him. The grand kids call it "Cody's Tree".
 
I find that having a place to visit my little ones brings comfort. Although it can't erase the pain of losing them, it keeps them and their memories a part of my every day.

Such beautiful pictures and what a wonderful tribute to your furbaby's. I'm sure it gives you a calm, relaxing place to visit when you just need a few serene moment to yourself. :sadsmile:
 
Thank-you all for the caring comments...we all share in knowing the heartbreak of losing our beloved companions. With adopting seniors and little dogs with special needs the loses often come sadly close together... we have buried 21 little souls in the 14 years we have been here in our current home. But as much as it hurts to lose them, it would hurt even more to know that maybe they would have died without a family to care. Each has brought us joy and cherished memories in their time with us.
