Bless you Barb for doing this for those rescues. I call them refugees.
There is a lovely lady that breeds shelties in your area that does a number of things for our rescue including fostering, driving all over to pick up and deliver - in fact she picked up Tinsel from the HSI once he was ready to be released into rescue and then drove him and the female with pups to Kingston. Her comment was that he stayed at the back of the crate and didn't want to make eye contact. Hopefully she will be able to see him this fall at our 10th anniversary picnic.
One of the videos made during the seizure includes Tinsel being held by one of the HSI workers. You can see his long nails and his terror. I kept the video so that I can look at it and see how far he has come and to remind myself that even if his life is shortened because of health issues beyond our control, he will have had a better ending than his beginning.
I can't look at the video of the maltese. Just reading the words breaks my heart and makes me beyond anger. I'm glad that it is in a loving home now with people that will ensure it's safety.
