Indestructible Recommendations

Well, it's official, Enzo is a toy destroyer! We've had basically the same 20 toys in our house for the past 3 years, and now our supply is dwindling. Enzo is fetching probably about 50% of the day, and he spends a little bit of time (though we try to redirect him to a bone) chewing on the toys.

My parents bought him one of those tough-type toys (with reinforcements along the seams) and he still tore a hole in the center and pulled out the stuffing.

Indestructible toys are around $15, so I'm looking for recommendations for ones that do seem to last a while.

Any suggestions? Anyone else have a toy ruiner? :lol:
 
I have one! I have one! It's not the Shelties or the little Collie...the JRT could dismantle an Army tank in a matter of minutes. She ruins every toy I buy for any of them. She got the puppy's bear....made by Kong and ripped a leg off"! geez!

We are interested in answers for this too! Cruz is a major destroyer.. he has these "Tuffy" toys that are supposed to be durable. Nope not for him!
 
GoDogs have been the only brand that has really held up to Olive as long as we clip off the tags (she has the elephant, flying pig, and pterodactyl.) She will pick at smaller pieces and at seams so the smooth finishes hold up better. We got her one of those Tuffy "rated" toys that was rated for Tigers or something, lasted 15 minutes before she tore it.
 
Well, as a pet store owner, there is no such thing as industricable! LOL!

In fact, I have a customer who comes in once per week, every week to buy a new toy for his boston terrier. Its the highlight of my week! Norton comes in on a flexi leash and roams the store until he finds something that he likes. I've talked to his Dad many times and he is just happy to keep bringing him back every week. Well, whatever!

But there are toys that are more chew proof than others.

For stuffy type toys: Look at Go Dog! (Chew guard) Callan has yet to destroy this stuffed dragon.

Also look for Tuffy. Not as cuddly, but very durable. Kong has now a "durable" stuffy line too.

Skineez is always a good choice. Even if they rip it open , they won't be eating stuffing.

For dogs that love chew....consider antlers....or bully sticks. The split antlers are great.....they get them chewing right away because the marrow is exposed so they get instant gratification, but it still takes work to break it down. btw.....don't be alarmed when you hear what seams like teeth cracking. Indy can go at these so hard, I'm sure that he's breaking his teeth.

From a fellow toy destroyer to another… Declin likes rope toys. Sometimes he gnaws on them and/or plucks the rope fringes with his front teeth… I had to trim one this morning. We also have a Petstages alligator. It has two tube squeakers and is covered with fabric. I had to trim off the tag and the fin as he tried eating them (and eventually the feet because they were too well loved), but this is one of his favorites, and has lasted awhile. The small Kong squeaky tennis balls are also a favorite.

The Holee Roller (by JW) is another one that we haven't destroyed yet. Plush Puppies has a line of "indestructables" and we have had success with the turtle with the detachable shell and a snake.

I think the name Norton suits a boston terrier-it cracked me up!!!

Atm I'm looking at indestructables for my sister - whose 12mth old Golden Retriever is chewing walls, floors, doors. I ordered some of those tough Kongs that you stuff with kibble in the hope that if food is coming out of it she won't feel the need to eat it (or the wall).

Have you tried those toys made out of fire hose materials? There's also the 'Hard boiled softies' range from Kyjen. The mini bee might be a good one. http://shop.kyjen.com/mini-hard-boiled-softies-bee.html
