info for people feeding eucanuba

I received an email from Ainsley's breeder this morning. It seems that the owner of one of Ainsley's littermates contacted her to tell her that Lily had been eating Eukanuba and became very sick. Her liver was failing. She spent two days at the vets getting treatment. Fortunately it looks like she will recover. Not sure if this is connected to the recall or something else.

This hits just a little too close to home for my piece of mind.

Heads Up, People...

Just a reminder to everyone that this thread is about the RECALL OF EUKANUBA and not random thoughts on the food industry in general. Please stick to the point. It is very important information for our pets.

Thank you, Ainsley's mom, for the new information. If the pattern follows as it usually does, we'll be hearing more of these unfortunate stories.

Salmonella in processed foods rarely causes issues in dogs. They do these recalls as a CYA because while dogs don't generally have issues, people very easily can. Especially when people treat kibble as some magical germ-free food.

If a dog has liver issues, it's probably unrelated to this particular Salmonella recall.
