Is he too big?

My feeling is a sheltie can never be too big. Deska is oversized (altho not so much) and let me tell you - its the best! Bigger sheltie means bigger cuddles. Deska is like a big blanket in winter and everyone wants to cuddle his beautiful big coat. So dont worry about it.

What a handsome fella,
I have two big boys, 17" and weigh in at 25-30-lbs. and two small shelties at 14" weighing in at 20-lbs. they all come in different sizes - and all just as beautiful and loving.

I have 5 shelties and they really range in size (13" to 17") but I think they're all fabulous. If I was wanting a show dog, none of my babies would qualify (Indy could have in his youth) but I wanted loving companions. Four of our dogs we've had since very young puppy hood (Angus, obviously from birth) and Sasha we rescued at 13 months old. For the ones we picked as puppies; we chose them (or maybe they chose us) by personality and friendliness....not by size. I find it amusing when a person comes to look at a litter of our puppies and says "I want the runt" without regards to any other characteristic.
 
Yes He is big but he is a very handsome man! I love his colors! His coat is lovely too! I like the long flowing coat!:winkgrin:
