My first Sheltie came from the highway. He's gone now but just yesterday I was able to pick up my new arrival from a breeder that I came across just by chance. I was looking for shelties in shelters first, but as the story seems to be for all others I couldn't find any. So now I have Loki and he is so awesome. I think I know what it's like to give birth now, because now when I'm not around him, I sit and imagine of the horrible things he might be getting into and start worrying. Before I brought him home I did a bit of nesting too.

and all pets friends because the best way to learn is through educating people about these pet stores. Most people are not aware that when they purchase a puppy from a pet store that they are helping to keep those puppy mills operating.

I have found it challenging to find local breeders in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine you get the idea. Most of the breeders that were around are no longer . It took quite a bit of research before I found Fair Isle Shelties in Franklin, NH. That was a hit by search engine Copernic. They also brought up others such as Fleur de lis Shelties which no longer exists, there was a breeder where I got my Blue Merle , Jewel, who is also no longer breeding. Please post some to help fellow sheltie lovers find some locally. If you post please state area of country location is.
