It never hurts to go back to basics.....

ohhhhh Noah will win for Poofiest ruff!!

I agree with that! I just looked at a picture of him, what a ruff! Sandstorms parents have those ruffs- Sandstorm does not have a ruff like that, I would like him too. Lots of it on the back, I could poof it up there-very thick. Also, his long legs give the illusion that his ruff is shorter.

Actually, I think Athena would take that honor right now. She blows coat like a bitch who just had a litter every time she blows coat (and she just finished). She is completely NAKED, and looks like a RAT.
It's been a busy night tonight though... I have bathed, brushed, and trimmed up three dogs for a show this weekend. It was quite a job! Caleb decided this year he would finally grow some real undercoat, and Phoenix, for an 8 month old puppy has a huge coat. Lark was the easy one with her shorter thinner yearling coat. Caleb and Phoenix took me HOURS. Caleb was the worst to trim. He hasn't shown since last fall, so besides feet, he hasn't been trimmed in a long time. Phoenix was the worst to blow out. It took forever.

Probably should add as a topic:

Poofiest butt! My goodness, Indy's butt just exploded this weekend. I peeled back his guard hair and sure enough, he's developed a whole new set of undercoat demons! Where does this keep coming from?

And also Sheltie rumpled butt: Don't know about your dogs, but when mine have been sleeping for awhile, they get up and they look like them been sleeping in the wilds - their rump hair sticks up all over the place!

I am happy to report it IS possible to outgrow the poofy butt. Caleb just this year has outgrown it, as the rest of his coat has finally caught up with it

Ok, poor Mikos wouldn't stand a chance for poofiest butt, and as sad as it is to say, he doesn't even have enough coat on his butt to get rumpled so that would be a loss too:lol:

Pooffy butt and rumpled butts would not be award winners - in fact the exact opposite!

The question is: can you get it out! I'm grooming Indy tonight, but too lazy to take before and after shots tonight! (Too dark in the house)

btw....don't you hate that its 7:45 p.m. and its almost dark out????

Barb, you are so funny when you describe grooming and your dogs!!!
I brushed Sandstorm for one hour on saturday, and still he has been leaving fur on the rug!!! As for the grinch feet- I want everyone to know that Sandstorms feet pad fur does not grow really, I don't want people to think he has all this awful fur on the bottom of his feet.

Also, has anyone noticed that the Lol smiles icon doesn't laugh anymore? Or am I going nutty.
