Jasper passes his CGC!

Congrats, anyone close enough to help me train Beau. I think he would be an awesome therapy dog as he is great with people and kids, just, not so great with other doggies. Other owners didn't teach him and he gets a little nervous sometimes especially, if he thinks they are going to pounce on him(off leash dog owners)

Working towards testing of a CGC,really does begin in early months of owner & dog. It is not to late ever to work with the dog. Even if he is shy or nervous. It just may take more time on your part.

It soiunds as though Beau is a bit nervous around other dogs, well that would be the area that I would be working with him. Offering great high value treats etc.
It can be done, don't give up.

I have used a clicker with my boys since they were first brought home, and have always kept in mind the 10 testing steps that the dog must pass. Each one really is basic, and should be taught early on.As the dog gets ready to be tested, the foundation is set. Its all basic manners.

Proud Jasper gets his CGC tag & new leash~

Jasper's CGC tag came the other day, along with his new combo fleece martingale/leash. I ordered his new leash from Haute Dawg,as that is where I got one for Trapp 3 years ago.

So here he is all proud & smiling with his stash. His certificate has not come yet,but I am sure will soon.
