Kibble storage?

We store kibble in galvanized 15 gallon garbage pails. You can get them at an Ace Tru-Value store. We started using them for wild bird seed....they will hold 60lbs of seed. For kibble they hold a 40 lb bag. I don't like to use plastic for storage or for food bowls.

The vittles vaults would be the best choice in my opinion. They are air tight and those gamma seal lids on them are great.

If your looking for a cheaper solution you can look into buying multiple food grade 5 gallon buckets, you might even be able to get them for free from local resturants (they often get food delivered in them).

For an extra couple bucks you can also look into what is frequently sold as a "Fermenter bucket" for beer. It's a food grade 6.5 gallon bucket which you can toss the gamma lid onto.

You can buy the gamma seal lids on amazon for around $6.00 each. A bucket and lid will run you aproximately $16 which isn't half bad. Guesstimating what one pail will hold based on the 5lb bags of food I get and the size of a containter I'd say it would hold around 10-15lbs of food maybe more depending on the size of the kibble.

I'm fairly confident my 5lb bag of food would fit into the 5 gallon bucket no problems. The 6.5 gallon bucket would give more head room though.

Granted they don't stack as nice as the vittles vaults but..
