Lacey is getting spayed tomorrow

I don't know how we are going to survive the next two weeks. She is already trying to run zoomies!!

Help. any ideas? I have her on a leash now. She had a fit while my husband was doing yard work and I made her stay inside with me.

Judyg - I had the same problem with Minnie - so I'm probably not helping much.

I went 3- 4 long quiet "sniff" trips a day in line with Minnie - might not go on the beach the first 2 weeks

Here at home, I gave her a shirt on, and she was with me in the garden all day without any activity with her on my part !!!
But sometimes she would simply have to go crazy all by herself :gaah, but then we went slightly into the house order to divert her.
After 14 days - could she like before run on the beach completely happy and crazy

So keep going - even if these 14 days seems unimaginable, but suddenly everything is as usual, and we have forgotten it all :fl

Keep her quiet they said. Don't let her run around.....hah!! 4 days after surgery and I have an energizer bunny again. the only way I can keep her quiet is to put her in her pen and leave. Then she is willing to rest, but if I'm home it's hard.

I am laughing, Judy, because I went through the same things with the girls and with Liam. In fact, Liam shot off the bed the night of his surgery.

Just do the best you can. Mine never had any side effects from being more active than they should have, and Natalie's spay was more difficult due to pyo.

I was very unpopular in my house after Savannah was spayed, because the ONLY way I could curb her from activity was crating her. The stink eye, sulk, deal was what I lived. She HATED her crate after that, won't go in voluntarily. Suffice to say, I know this is NOT fun for you or her...when you get r-e-l-e-a-s-e-d, your world will return to normal...just keep chanting, this is only temporary the end is coming...

Ah yes! I remember this with Lexi. I ended up sitting in the ex-pen with her because she was so pathetic and bored!

I got my puppy lots of food puzzles and would freeze different snacks into her Kong so that she had lots of stuff to do. And I took her on low key outings so she at least had new things to look at and sniff.

I took her out to run some errands with me yesterday. She really liked getting out and seeing all the different places. We went to the post office (and almost got kicked out) the pet store and Staples. It was the most she has been out in a while. She had a good time and was happy to take a good nap afterwards.

Ah yes, I remember it well. I let Echo sleep on the floor the night she had the surgery. She was pretty out of it and slept through the night. I was woken up at 6:00 Am by her jumping up on the bed (which is high) and pouncing on my head like nothing had ever happened.
My breeder had called me the day of surgery for moral support and she told me the hardest part would be keeping her quiet after. She wasn't kidding :gaah
I had the most luck just laying on the couch watching TV and she'd lay quietly next to me. Every time I got up, she'd zoom. Everything turned out fine and you can't even see the scar.

Update

It's new been a week since Lacey's spay surgery. She is just fine. Acting like nothing ever happened. We worry so much about our babies going through this surgery, but it really was pretty easy for her, for me......not so much!

I was told she could start back to her agility training after 15 days, but her trainer will be away so she is getting another week off. We will start working with our jumps in the yard in another week.

She never bothered her stitches either, so no cone needed, not even a onesie.

Big sigh of relief!! I'm so glad we are on the other side now.

Anyone know how long it takes for the internal stitches to dissolve?
