Last time with Georgie

A good goodbye

We have had a bittersweet weekend but it has brought peace. Georgie is deteriorating quickly, so we have reassurance that we are doing the right thing at the right time, before she is in pain or can't walk on her shaky little legs. We will go to the last visit to our vet tomorrow morning after a weekend of kisses, hugs, letting her tear up kleenex to her heart's content, getting tiny sips of water into her and tiny bites of her favorite foods. She has taken tiny walks and been carried for the trip back down the sidewalk. She has spent most of the time in my arms, being told what a pretty girl, what a good girl she is, and giving me kisses and cuddles. We have packed as much love into these three days to last her forever.
I got the final sign when she was not able to get up to walk me to the bathroom and back. She has done that every time since she came to our home the night before Thanksgiving and began her herding job of watching over her new mommy. I think it is God telling me it's the right time and that He will take care of her sweet soul. It hurts, but I would rather feel this pain that to have not had the nine months with her to love and be loved.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers and love. It is a special comfort because you all know about Sheltie love. Please pray for us tomorrow morning.

I'm so very sorry. It's hard to lose them at any time but after such a short time and so young it must be doubly so. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you.

Dear St. Francis,
Today a Sheltie Mom and Dad are sending a very special gift. Little Georgie was too frail for this world, and they love her so very much that they are entrusting her to you, where she will be healthy, joyous and pain-free. Please welcome her with open arms as she bounces into the green fields of Rainbow Bridge, and remind her that it will seem but the twinkling of an eye until she sees her beloved family once more.
In His name we ask,
Amen

I am so sorry to hear about little Georgie. It breaks my heart to read you both had such a short time together. Just reading about her fills my heart and I know you filled her heart as much as she filled yours. I know the Angels are singing and will take good care of your baby until you meet again. I will keep you,Georgie and your husband in my prayers.
