Lost sheltie: Port Lucie, FL. FOUND SAFE!

So relieved he's been found. Can anyone post details though? The FB group seems to be down or gone and I'd love to know what happened.

Ok I am back home and here is the whole story:

Last night I finally got the number for Linda and Rob , Kindle's new Mom and Dad and Linda told me that they had a sighting of him in a field about 1/4 of a mile from home. I then called Cindy to see if she knew where to get a humane trap. she did not and we decided to go and take Rose her tri Sheltie to see if he would respond in any way as Rose is VERY calm and NO BARKING. It was dark and we could not get a visual. At 9 pm we decided to leave and Cindy and Rob returned to the field at about 6 am. He did not come out at all durring that time. They both had to leave at 9 am.

I in the mean time went to the local humane society to see if I could get a trap and they opened at 8 for intake. They did not have them there and told me to call animal control.
Well I went to drop something off at the building department and called Cindy and told her I was going up to see what I could do and if I could see him. I was on the phone with Cindy when I saw him darting about in the brush area around his crate. then he went into the brush. I got close and got down the next time he came out he was sniffing around the crate and then walked around it and when he got to the other side he looked up and saw me and bolted IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

He came back about 10 min later to the crate. That is when Linda arrived and he was darting in and out and finally darted back in the brush area. At that point Linda had the KFC and I took it and put it out in the crate then stepped back, however he did not come back out.

In the mean time Cindy came and then Rob got the humane trap and we set it up with his towel, and water and KFC, the ants were bad so we put the chicken in a tray and we put that tray in another tray of water so to keep the ants off of the chicken. We put the crate of his behind the trap so it looked like he was going into the crate. Then we backed off per Cindy and Darla's expert advice. Then we waited, and waited and waited, if was forever because I wanted to just run up and go look for him but I knew BETTER so self control and we waited. We knew it would be 4 pm before we saw him again as it was the same time last night that he was first spotted and being creatures of habit we were sure he would come out at the same time.

We decided to go back to Linda's house and go to the bathroom and he would come out and go into the trap while were gone. The old saying a watched pot never boils , well we figured it was just like that and we left , when we came back 15 min later he was in the trap. We took Rose up and she settled him down but kept him in the trap until we got him home and in the house.

He is in GREAT shape, he wanted to bond with Cindy and myself and we left, so all of the visions to go to Cindy and Ginger he was starting to trust us so we needed him to bond with Linda we checked him over and made sure he was not hurt in any way and we left a very GREATFUL Mom with her new furbaby. He is going to be loved and pampered and very well protected .

I want to thank EVERYONE who supported Me along with Cindy and his parents and your help with Kindle. thanks everyone. I was able to help in the recovery of Kindle because of all I have learned from Maddie, Cindy, Darla , Ruffles, Kasey, Kai, Vance , Whisper and Kyla of which Kyla still needs to come home so please pray and continue to guide her to the trap, and most importantly GOD is who I owe the fact that we were able to bring him home in record time.

What great news. My heart broke knowing how scared he must be after the flight, new home etc. I am just happy there has been a happy ending for Kindle and his new family.

I had a wonderful conversation last night with Ginger, and she told me the whole story. She was one determined lady, and with the help of many,Kindle is now home.

To all of the folks, thank you.The networking on FaceBook proved to be awesome.
Ginger and I laughed a bit, when we got to talking about the KFC chicken..
