Appreciate all the "she's beautiful" comments, I'm so in love with her colouring! Admit I'm loving all the attention she gets when we are out, with EVERYONE asking "what kind of dog is that?!"

The blue merle throws people, as most aren't aware Shelties come like this. They think she's an Aussie, but then see her tail & think she's a Border Collie Aussie cross or ?!? No one knows & that's fun for me!

I get stopped all the time with the What is that BC, Aussie? I am finding it really fun when I have both Ember and Birch. Birch looks like a BC pup right now as he is pretty smooth and gangly right now. Ember is also smaller than Birch and it really confuses people that she is a full grown adult.

I waited a whole 3 yr before adding my 2nd sheltie and have been on a 3 yr adding cycle since but hopefully that will be broken because 4 in my house is my limit. Justice will be 12 in 3 yrs and he better have atleast 3 more yrs to go.

Just an interesting aside my dog before my first sheltie was a JRT mix named Jazmin. She was Jazmin for 4 days and then only when she was bad. The rest of the time she was known as Jazz.

Warm welcome from Maryland!

Julip is so adorable...almost as cute as our blue merle Zoey. (LOL)
Zoey is 2.5 years old. We got her at 8 weeks. She shares the roost with our two sables Murphy and Bentley. We just started agility the Bentley and Zoey and have fallen in love with this doggy sport. It's fun learning all the jumps and tunnels, etc., and gets hubby and I off the sofa. Hopefully some day we'll be able to compete, but for now we're busy learning the ropes.

Justice Mom, neat you had a Jazmin too (we almost spelled them the same too) Yes our Jazmyn was Jaz as well. Both hubby & I have called Julip, Jaz a couple times - after 16.5 years its a hard habit to break & we miss her tons! But SO thankful Julip is here to give us all the puppy love we need!

Lovemyshelties, I was able to view your website pics - all 3 are wonderful. And your 1 pic of Bentley answered a question we had here - well I knew the answer but hubby didn't believe me. The pic showing Bentley's toe pads where there are spots of black on his pink toe pads. Julip too has this and hubby kept saying her toe pads were turning black & I kept saying no, they are just spots. He got the idea from Julip's nose - because it was pink & turned black. There is still a little pink on it but I think it will still change - YES?

Julip had her 1st puppy play date in HER yard yesterday with a 1 year old shih tzu, (a friends sister's dog) They got along SO great, well Julip was mostly the one being chased but she was way faster & LOVING it.

It was great watching her agility instincts, as she weaved in & out & under our chairs, while the shih tzu wasn't doing any of that. After going crazy, they'd have a drink, chill & relax & then about 5 min later one of them would bark at the other & they were off running again. Julip had a great sleep after that & was pretty zonked the rest of the evening.
Unfortunately this was a visiting doggie, they live about 2 hrs away. I need to find her a suitable playmate in our neighbourhood! Anything to tucker her out is wonderful!

I can't say for certain, of course, but the last few pink spots on her nose should probably fill in. Lerwick had a spotty nose, too, and it did eventually fill in. It seemed like the last little patch was very reluctant to do so, but it did go away eventually! I've attached Lerwick's age progression photo. We brought him home at 8 weeks (picked him out at 6 weeks), and by 18 weeks, the last little spot of pink was finally gone on his nose.

As for the foot pads, you are right, those spots are spots for life, LOL.
