Luxating patella - rehab and exercise

Kismet is still limping. It looks so much like the patella but I had the vet look at it and the patella seems firm. So she's going in next week for hip x-rays.

Fingers crossed it's just a soft tissue injury that isn't healing. She's such a tear-away it's so hard to keep her still.

Fingers crossed that she is ok!! After all the drama and stress over Kip's knee, I really feel for you. Worrying and not knowing what is wrong is the worst.

Did the vet check her ACL/CCL?

So we had x-rays done today. Stupidly I realised when I took her in I should have just booked with the Ortho vet for a hip score - would have cost the same.

Anyway the good news is no obvious problems in the joints. The bad news is, when the vet was manipulating the left leg to get images it was catching or clicking on something. So he's going to send the images to the ortho vet, who of course knows me well. In all, quite disappointing. I know it will mean more images. $$$

Glad you saw the vet but sorry the ortho vet was not seen first. Hope you get an answer soon. So sad that such a young pup needs to see a vet. Did you get health insurance on her? I never had it on any of my dogs but did with Liam!

Yes got health insurance about 2 months ago. After all Deska's issues (and now Tully), it's been a lifeline. But I have to say, insurance on 5 animals is getting expensive.
I don’t have it on Baron or Beau since they were older when I adopted them. I hear it can get expensive unless you sign them up as pups!
