Major Digestive Issues / Partial Obstruction

Thinking of You

We are thinking of you! Aria does eat things but we have been fortunate enough that she passes it. What a wonderful vet. Please keep us posted.

Hi. Thanks again for all the kind messages. We are thankful for all of the support and we realize that most were written to be helpful and with good intentions.

Hannah has been doing a bit better today, but she is still not out of the woods yet. She has not vomitted or had a diarrhea episode in about 30 hours. She spent last night at the vet's home, all of today at the clinic, and is staying again tonight at our vet's home. We went to see her today at the clinic and took her some chicken and rice for the chance her appetite returns. She has been on IV fluids since yesterday, and seemed much more alert when we saw her. She was very happy to see us and wagging her tail, but also seemed quite tired after a few minutes outside. None of the tests or examinations today led to a conclusive cause, but we were happy to see not vomitting or having diarrhea. Our current approach is still treating everything like its related to the infection or antibiotics being very rough on her sensitive stomach. We are hoping and praying for more good news tomorrow morning.

I am very happy to hear that Hannah is feeling a bit better today. Maybe she can make a great comeback tonight/tomorrow and be home for Christmas.

Thanks so much for the update. I know many of us were sitting on eggshells waiting to hear how was doing today.

I'm very happy to hear that things appear to be heading in the right direction with little Hannah.

I refrained from commenting here because I didn't have time to thoroughly read your posts... but now that I have... I just wanted to say that my gut is telling me that dealing with her diarrhea might be putting the cart before the horse. It sounds like immediately following her spay she felt rotten (ie. not eating, etc.... due to the infection caused by the surgery) Then your vet prescribed antibiotics to deal with the infection, coupled with a new food and that's what upset her tummy. (ie. diarrhea, vomitting, etc) Blood tests to determine the type/source of the infection would probably be the best course of action.

Good luck... best wishes... my thoughts are with Hannah (and you)!!!

Good that she is feeling a little better!
It must be so tough on you not having her home, where she belongs... I know I hate when Toffee isn't at home!!

Gald to hear she is improving and it could be a case of to much at one time on a sensitive tummy. Will check later for an update and that you get her home for Christmas.

Sorry I missed this earlier. Hopefully Hannah is headed back to 100% for Christmas, I know people are different but some antibiotics get to my mother real bad. What part of bama are y'all in? Me and Sca are up in the north near Huntsville.
