Marking

No, it shouldn't be a problem if you're getting your pup neutered and do all of the proper training with him. 6 months of age seems to be the recommended age for spay/neutering. I think its best to have it done at this age, before their hormones start kicking in :smile2:

Dusty is not too happy having his belly band on! I made a temporary one out of an old towel until I can get to the pet store to buy him some real ones. He can not lick himself :o but since as soon as I turned my back to him he peed on my husband's recliner :eek2: I figured I better do something quick!!

I wonder if he is also marking because the guide dog we are raising is an intact male that is almost 5 months old. Unfortunatly we are not allowed to have the guide dog fixed, maybe I better stock up on belly bands for him too just in case. I have been noticing the Max, the boxer has been trying to mount Dusty, so maybe he is marking to try and show he is the top male in the house?

:eek2:, wow, you have a house full of testosterone don't you?! You are very brave and obviously much more patient than me, my hat goes off to you!

oh my. A girl that just came out of heat and another intact male trying to mount him. Yep he is trying to put himself into the top dog position.

I think your on the right course go back to treating him like a totally untrained pup. Make sure he is never out of your site and read him the riot act if he does it in front of you. You can't do anything if you don't see it.

A friend of mine came over last night for a gift exchange and her pug immediately ran over to our tree and peed on all the presents. I was NOT impressed and my husband even less so. :uhoh:

Oh dear! I hope none of that seeped into the gifts! Eew. I think Romeo took the hint - he's left the gifts I brought home last night and placed on the floor alone. Silly dog!! Maybe he's wondering why I haven't showed him his gift yet! He's getting a rabbit for Christmas (for eating that is!) so it's kinda hard to gift wrap!
