Martha Stewart collection at PetSmart - a review

I wouldn't mind that microfiber bath mat, I use a microfiber towel and still have to use another towel or two on the floor when I give Saidy a bath.

P.S. Tofupup, it's been years since I've heard anyone talk about Sturbrige village, brings back memories, of course it's not a big topic now that I live in North Caroline
 
From the pictures of the food scoops...it looks like they are stainless steel on the inside, and painted with some sort of enamel based paint on the outside.

Stainless steel shouldn't ever chip, but the paint on the outside could potentially wear down or chip over time. If it is enamel based then I'd be worried about the paint, if however it's latex based then chipping would be minimal, and you could use any number of items to remove the paint from the exterior, then sanitize the scoop in the dishwasher and it would be fine.

Have you actually walked into the store and seen the grooming tote with your own two eyes though? It's short. Very, very short. Might be alright for some people, but I could easily see my stuff falling out of it, because it's just too dang small!

Yeah, I did. I guess it might not be as tall as the shampoo bottles, but it's probably pretty close? I guess I just don't plan on toting the tote very far :lol: Mostly I would just put it in the closet with my stuff in it. I don't usually travel with my grooming supplies.

And yes, the hide a chicken is so cute!
 
The grooming tote is similar in design as my Walmart tote, which is similar in design to the CC tote....but it is definitely shorter, less pockets. I wouldn't bother with it. Spend the extra $20 and get the CC tote instead (as my Walmart tote no longer seems to be available)

I never dreamed I would need anything beyond a shopping bag to haul my stuff. But now I have a basket for the refills, and my tote is crammed!

As for the Hiding Birds, I think the Hide a Squirrel on a different thread is better quality.

Haven't really had a chance to look at the rest, but I AM avoiding the shopping pages these days...(though I did dare a look!)

I saw the hide a chicken. Then I remembered the "for moderate chewers" on the rest of the stuff and put it back. PetSmart has an off name brand of the chicken coop on the aisle with their other toys. Cheaper, and I'm sure it would hold up the same. :lol: It might not have been the chickens. It might have been the squirrels. I forgot.

I saw the craft bag- aka grooming tote- at Walmart not long ago :yes:
 
I got a chance to actually look at the Martha Stewart stuff today and was much more pleased than browsing online.

1) They have little balls!! I am soooo annoyed with the squeaky tiny tennis balls most places have and Martha Stewart XS tennis balls come in cute colors: lavender, baby blue, and red. We need quite a few for Flyball practice at home, so I was pleased they came in four ball packages. I got the baby blue (even though the lavender was quite a pleasing color) to preserve Duncan's masculinity.

2) They toys didn't seem like they would hold up for crazy chewers, but seemed sturdy enough for most dogs. Pierre got a little squirrel holding a nut. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4044219&lmdn=Martha+Stewart+Pets
Papillons have been called Little Squirrel Dogs in the past, so ... corny.

(Abbie got a Snoggle... non-Martha Stewart related. Just didn't want you to think she was left out!)

Overall, I liked the quality of things. Yeah, they might get ripped, but it isn't like it promises to be indestructible.

I'm really excited about those little balls and might get another pack next week. For some reason, it is near impossible to get tiny tennis balls that don't annoyingly squeak around here.

Side note:
As for grooming tote- if you want a larger tote, go with a diaper bag. It sounds silly, but think about it - it will have tons of different pouches (long enough for a brush because they are made for bottles), the advantage of portability if you need it, and plenty of space. I got one at Target. I tried not to grin too widely at the doe-eyed looks of "Oh, she's expecting" I got walking around the store.
