Massive bruise (formerly ? infection) on Gavin's chest

It’s,certainly possible that Gavin’s past incidents of
Gavin seems pretty perky today. ate his breakfast and drank his water. He is SITTING up outside now. Like he did before we think he got hurt.
Supposed to rain tomorrow so he might not get out too much until it dries out during the weekend.

With a bruise that big, I wonder how he even functioned! But now I definitely know why he was laying on his side all day and was so lethargic.
poor guy….I’m so happy to hear he’s feeling better and enjoying the great outdoors! Thank you Cindy for posting about Gavin’s bruise, I’m not surprised you didn’t see it or think to look for one. I personally wouldn’t have even thought of a bruise but why not…we bruise and it hurts if we bang it hard enough!
Maybe we need to have a Sheltie check list for when they’re acting out of sorts lol…I’ll definitely put ‘check for bruises’ on the list now!

When he was acting lethargic for a few days in the past 2 years and didn't want to move or walk, I attributed it to hurting his back or overdoing things. He always started bouncing back in a few days. Now, looking back, he probably fell and bruised his chest and I never thought to look :(

Padding wouldn't be a a bad idea. but it would need to be somewhat thick..

Not for Gavin, but pool noodles if you could find or order somewhere, would potentially work on table and chair legs. It's amazing what you can use them for! Amazon has them for Prime members - 25.00 - 65.00, also see them at Target. If you need Prime and don't have it and are interested, PM me and I will order them for you.... :) I'd need name, address to ship to, what item you want.

My mom has them on her bedside table corners :) I guess I could wrap them in foam (I think pool noodles would be too small, but I will ruminate on it)

Do you have prime? If not, please do reach out.

A knife and a tad of duct tape and pool noodles are all sorts of good things. My husband used them during rehab for an ACL replacement, I used them for years on the wall side of the kids beds to keep stuff from falling down (still do on one bed), they can be cut into decent protectors for stuff in storage, moving. When the kids were young and walked long before they had depth perceptin, I used them on the fireplace surround, table legs, etc. Never really was a fan of them in a pool - haha. Slice them to fit the length you need and then slice them open to fit on whatever you need.

definitely have prime. mom is always going on about how much stuff is delivered. even though half of it is for her! She doesn't want to pay for an amazon account but boy did she perk up when I said I had one. she was like, so you can order it for me? So I had her give me a CC# so I can just order stuff for her from CA and have it shipped here. She has her own shopping list on my account. It will make things easier for her.

the pool noodles should arrive right before I leave (not a prime thing, but these are super fat ones),
