What is the purpose of it under the crate? Could you use some of those interlocking foam pads they make for people to buy to put in a home gym? You could get those at Sears or Dick's probably.

The reasoning is for it to not mess up the turf/carpet/flooring. You could use the interlocking foam pads I'd imagine
