Meet Katy, my 12 year old baby

Katy's beagle brother passed on June 5, 2021. We always had to have a gate up to keep them out of the bedroom because he didn't know how big he was, and would try to jump on the bed right at my face! But after he passed, we let Katy come in freely.

So for 2 years she has slept on my shorts, and then at the exact same time, every morning, she's decided it's her job to wake me up! LOL So this is how I've been woken up every morning for 2 years:

I usually work until around 4am, so our normal time to get up is 11:30am. I swear, I've woken up at 11:29 before and seen her laying on my shorts, and the second my clock flips to 11:30 she gets up and comes over!!

Clearly Katy some humans need lots of patience before they understand what they are supposed to do-- just be patient he will come around-- we hope. My girl comes up and sit in front of my face and sings to me at 6:30 or before--

I just read @SheepOfBlue posting about Ian's nickname, and it reminded me.

We've always jokingly called Katy a "shark" because she's always circling around us! If we're talking to someone while she's on the leash, she'll get bored and start doing figure-8s around us to tie our legs together! LOL

It’s funny that all these Shelties are early risers because every one of mine sleeps until I get up (I swear Blueberry is happy I’m awake only because then she can have my spot on the bed) and then they leave me alone until I’ve finished my first cup of coffee. As soon as they hear me get up to get my second cup all three come running for their morning cookies !
These are my rules….I’m not a pleasant person until I’ve had that first cup!
