Yeah both my daughter and I have been trying that off and on throughout the afternoon! Megan has a pretty stubborn little knot behind her ear

Just work it gently. be persistant. Deja has fine hairs there as well and she gets little bullet sized knots. I use my straight comb and just worry at it a little until it comes free. Take the tip of the comb and pierce the edge of the knot. Only take a strand or two at a time.
The baby powder is something my friend told me about. It helps to seperate the hairs.

Indy absolutely HATES it when I go near his hiney! I'm never rough and never pull, but he still clamps his tail down hard and won't let me lift it to groom. When my grooming arm finally arrives, I'm going to attach it to his tail instead of his head!

When Ember was about 6 months old, I had really been working hard at getting her to stand for nail trimming and not thrashing and screaching at the top of her lungs when I did them. We had been making great progress and even though she didn't like it, she was tolerating it and stand still. I had just finished trimming the last nail and patted Ember on the shoulder and said there that wasn't too bad. As I did that Ember looked me dead in the eyes and her pupils constricted and then dilated very qucikly(my brain went oh no, that's not good) and she lunged for my face. I caught her by the muzzle and the back of her neck just as her teeth gazed my right cheek. I held her and told her off for about 15 seconds and then put her on the floor and walked away.It really shook me as I was all done and doing nothing with her when her lunged. She had never before and has never after tried to bite me or anyone else. She was a head strong pup though. I think it was a test, to see if she could get me to back off. From, that day forward though she listened to me and respected me and our relationship bloomed.
On a related note, I've noticed that my pups have gotten very possessive and aggressive over their rawhides. This morning, I tried to remove one from Indy's mouth and he was not going to release for anything. As I was trying to pry his mouth open, I suddenly got apprehensive that he was going to bite me if I succeeded in getting it.
I had to stop, albeit relunctantly. He won that battle, but you can bet that he won't win anymore. The rawhides are now going to be rationed out and under MY control.

just don't forget that you did that when you go to brush his teeth.. you'll think they all fell out!

Yikes! If he reacts like that when I go after his butt with a wet wipe, can you imagine what he'd do if I tried a toothbrush on him! I swear he'd think I was going to scope him or something! Yowllllll!

I use it every time I brush her, so when she is dry. I spritz a little regular water on her coat to dampen it. Then, I spay the johnson and johnson's on the tough to brush areas like behind her ears and her pants/skirt.
I was brushing her pants last night. Her pants are very though to brush. They're not even knotted and it's hard to work through them. I guess it hurt at some point and she snapped back. She wasn't going for me though. She was going for the brush. It wasn't a vicious, intent to kill bite. It was a "ahhh get stop it!!!" I still corrected her.
